WHATSOEVER!! Yes! Lets think about about good stuff. Here's a list of stupid stuff a Christian Conservitive Woman might think about: -what if my husband dies? -what if my kids get in a terrible car accident and become brain dead or just dead, for that matter? -what if that guy over there started flurting with me? -what if I get sued for selling my art to a low life money loving jerk? -what if Los Angeles gets bombed by Alqueda or something, and I have to go running to Nabraska or something?
Now, really? Do we need to be thinking of all those "what ifs"? They're not even true. They haven't even happened. So, cut it out and think on these things:
-truth
-nobel, honesty, and honorable things
-right, just, justice, right judgement
-pure
-lovely
-admirable things
-excellent things
-things that should be praised (Philippians 4:8)
There. That's pretty simple. Doesn't God make this pretty easy for us? I mean, we're Americains. Most of us can read. My dyslexic brother reads. So, just open the GOOD BOOK and read it. One of the Beattitudes Christ talks about in Matthew 5 is "hungering and thirsting after righteousness". Because, then, you'll be filled. Christ even says when he was temped, "Man does not live on mere bread alone, but from every word that comes out of the mouth of God". Isaiah 55 talks about those who hunger and thirst and that if you go to Him, he will fill you. His thoughts are higher than yours. So are His ways. He is the Most High God. He is the only one who can fill whatever you are craving, because He is perfect and holy. How can something that is unholy fill you and satisfy you? Only the Holy One can fill you.
And yet we're filling ourselves up with garbage!! How would ya fare on a diet of Hershey bars? Gross!! Your insides will be all black, you'd be constipated, toxic, pimple faced, and an irritating person to be around. Quit spendng so much of your time on the TV, computer, and get some nourishment from the Word of God.
2 PEter 3:1
Dear friends this is my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking.
WOW!! So, I bet both 1 & 2 Peter are full of great stuff to stimulate us to great thinking. Instead of stinkin' thinkin': thoughts that are lies, ugly, dramatically corney and full of worthless fluff, wrong, dirty, sarcastically mean, stupid and pointless are not allowed here. After all, we want to become more Christ like. Stinkin' thinkin' is not becoming more Christ like. It's just staying nasty and toxic.
If you haven't already, I'd encourage you to fast and pray for a day. Maybe even 2 (since man does not live on mere bread alone, but from every word the comes out of hte mouth of God). Meditate on both 1 & 2 Peter. It's quite wordy. But just remember, it's written by the high strung Appostle Peter. It's bound to be wordy, because he's an excited person about the things Christ has dome. I've been on 1 Peter 1 for two weeks now. It's crazy and packed full of how we are to think of our SALVATION. If you choose to fast, ask God to help you. Satan doesn't want you to live freely. He doesn't want you to focus your attentions on the beautiful things God has for you. He wants to disturb you, and he wants you to continue to be wishy washy. He especially doesn't want you to love and appreciate your salvation like Peter does. Nope. He wants you to live in legalistic nastiness, worldy wishy-washiness, ..........oooooooo, or better yet, he'd love for you to fall into the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Yup!! He would.
I will pray for you the the devil will not mess with your desire to think rightly and become more Christ centered.
"God in Heaven!! Most High God! Let my sisters be strong in you and may they think and live rithtly. May all that comes out of their mouths be beautiful, because You have filled them with good thinking. We love you. May Satan not mess with us as we get our lives, hearts, and minds right with you in Christ centeredness!! In Christ alone!! In Christ forever. We are yours. You will keep us. In Jesus' name, AMEN!!"
Love, Kim
Grace to you.
